This is a fabulous and unique early 1900's Whiting & Davis silver soldered mesh purse. Overall, this purse is in excellent condition. The ball clasp and frame have machine tooled Art Deco designs on both sides.The hinge and clasp are in perfect working condition. It is hallmarked Whiting & Davis on the frame; and from the design of the hallmark, it places the manufacture date to the very early 1900s. It measures 4 1/4" top to bottom and 3 3/4" wide at the bottom. From its size, this purse maybe used as a Change Purse or as a small Formal Purse. The only imperfection is found under the hinge on the left frontside of the purse, there are about three tiny mesh loops that have come undone, but are barely noticeable when the purse is closed.
